I always love Monday mornings. I don't know how many times I've said it but it's just that feeling of letting go of everything that says zero structure about the weekend. This weekend was one of those ones where there's almost nothing on the agenda, except for some studying, which left me spending the entire Saturday in my bed eating candy (uhhm also due to a minor hangover). Not that there's anything bad about that, but I believe routines, and having things to do constantly is what brings something interesting into your days. Right now, we are in the concept phase in our brand development and it is very fun, but quite some work, and just because it is so fun it is easy to underestimate how much work it actually is to do. Yesterday, me and a friend from my group looked for visuals for our mood board and how pathetic and not true that may sound, it is so extremely difficult! And, I also think talking too much about visuals drives you absolutely mad after a while. Anyways, there will be A LOT to do until next Monday when our concept presentation is which I am both excited and nervous about. But we will make it! As long as there's enough coffee! (going onto my second cup for the morning now.) Ciao chicas!
The weather outside right now is unfortunately not the most inspiring, and that in combination with that I had class until 19.30 last night has resulted in no outfit today. But - shit happens! Last night we had a lecture from the owner of Mud jeans that lease out jeans, and K.O.I (Kings of Indigo) which is another Dutch denim brand. I think it was fun hearing what they have to say since they have so much experience from within the industry and we as students have a lot to learn from them. I think it's kind of funny (and sad at the same time) how extremely critical the audience was, since it mostly consisted of students. Some people really seam to think as though after having studied some fashion they know what they are talking about and can immediately point out what is wrong with their business. "Why are they doing it this way? Why are they doing it that way? You really notice that they don't know what they're talking about.". Having some insight into startup brands and knowing how incredibly difficult it is to establish a business online I almost felt ashamed of sitting there together with the other students. Being critical is good, but being a know-it-all when it comes to start-ups and fashion companies after some studying is simply distasteful. So, having that said, if you're interested in denim I really think you should have a look at their unique concepts. Mud jeans are pioneers within the industry by LEASING out jeans! How cool isn't that?! You can find Mud jeans HERE and K.O.I HERE. Soon I'm meeting up with my project group and after that school for a couple of hours followed by more group work. Woho! Happy Friday!
A couple of months ago my blog completely crashed and so many of my posts disappeared. At this point I was, without exaggerating completely devastated since I knew that the ton of work I had put into building this blog had disappeared. Luckily for me, I have two external hard drives full of photos from all of these posts and since I've gained some new readers on the new blog I was thinking that I should share some of them again. These photos were taken by my sister Emelie by the church Engelbrekts kyrkan which is right around the corner from our apartment in Stockholm. I absolutely love these photos because of the location and the amazing light in the photos. What makes them extra interesting to me is that we went out quite late in the evening and basically said that we would just take a couple of shots but it would probably not be enough light outside - and then these came out. Makes me excited just by thinking about it. So what do you think? Would you like me to post more of these oldies but goodies? Let me know in the comment section! I get so happy from looking at these photos from this weekend when me and Bou spent some time at a terrace in the sun, drinking beer. We drank Becks, since that's what's my nickname of course, and a darker Düsseldorg beer. So good! These are really the moments that I love about life! The moments when you can just sit down and relax in the sun with your loved one and for once just enjoy the moment. Yesterday was another one of those evenings. Last night my dad arrived and we met up for dinner at a restaurant called FLO. We had been there before and since it was right next to dad's hotel we felt it would be good to go there again. We had a shellfish platter with crab, prawns, oysters, whelks, winkles and Dutch shrimps with a nice bottle of Chablis (my favourite wine) and afterwards a steak tartar that we could barely finish. The food was good but the service was underneath every standard. The waiter forgot to take our orders, serve us wine, check up on us - he basically forgot about everything simultaneously as the chef was singing loudly in the kitchen. Last time we were there the service was bad to, but then it was so busy that you could easily get a hold of someone when they were running to another table, but being a Monday night, meaning not that many guests, it felt as though they would rather get ready to go home than serving us. BUT, bad service aside, I had a great night with my dad and to my happiness he told me he will be staying until tonight which means I will also see him again today. Woho! But that means a bit of studying now and then head over to school before that can happen! I hope you'll have a great day! Ciao!
I'm starting to realise that this may be one of the last bare legged outfits in a couple of months. It is so strange how schizophrenic the weather can be. A couple of days ago it was up to 26 degrees and yesterday I wore my sheep-jacket and it still felt cold. Well oh well, in one way I'm excited for the fall since I truly am an autumn girl. Not that my birthday is in the autumn, but I've just always loved the time when the leaves start falling off the trees and it gets cold enough to be able to justify sitting inside with lit candles and just reading a magazine. Ahh I'm getting into cosy mode just by thinking about it. But, what I also love about the autumn is that you really start appreciating those days when the sun is out. During the summer, it's something that people just take for granted but there's just no better feeling than waking up an autumn day and looking out of the window to find out that the sun is shining. It's an amazing feeling! One thing that I find quite boring with the autumn though is that it seams as though all colours from the palette gets banished for a few months and substituted by black, grey and dark blue. I'm not saying that I'm not doing the exact same thing (and sometimes especially much since I've always been a person who almost only dress in black) but for this fall my challenge will be to wear more colour, even if just on a nice bag like the one in the photos or on a nice pair of shoes. It's all about those little things that spices up the outfit and gives you that little extra life lust! This is btw my favourite bag at the moment which I got from my amazing boyfriend. I'm wearing it as often as I can and I always get compliments for it. I'm wearing/Bag from Essentiel Antwerp/Dress from ZARA/Watch from Nixon/
